Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Dave was hospitalized from Jan 27 to Feb 1, after getting very ill that weekend.  Previously Dave had been suffering from insomnia for months and been extremely fatigued (something we attributed to a stressful job and a stressful situation at home with both kids being sick.)

We learned while Dave was in the hospital that he has a gallbladder that needs to be removed, cirrhosis of the liver, an enlarged spleen that isn’t producing the right amount of platelets and a 4cm mass in his stomach.   For now Dave is home resting, he’s on leave from work, eating a healthy diet (he’s newly diagnosed Diabetic) that is low in fat (as not to aggregate the gallbladder) and low in sugar and no alcohol in order to prepare for a procedure (Ultrasonic Endoscopy and biopsies) on March 22nd  to determine what the mass is.  He’s too high risk at the moment but after 10 days of a newly approved medication to raise his platelets- he should be cleared for the procedure.   After the results,  we’ll build a plan with his medical team for treatment.

Connor continues to struggle with his Ulcerative Colitis and Kylie is still in constant pain from her NDPH (New Daily Persistent Headache).  Both kids are transitioning to online school due to years of excessive absences.

We are grateful to all of the support of family and friends and consider ourselves very fortunate to have so many people thinking, praying and helping us!
