Dave is an Army veteran and served as a government contractor in Iraq. He is a certified fire alarm programmer and technician. He loves youth and has volunteered for many years as a coach for youth football teams along with other sports and has also worked as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America.

Dave was diagnosed with a brain tumor on the 16th of May after many weeks of severe headaches. They immediately took him into surgery and removed a 5.7cm tumor from the front of his brain. It is a Glioblastoma tumor that has been slowly growing on the front of his brain for many years but has become more aggressive in the past year. He was in the ICU for many days and is now out of ICU but still in the hospital. There have been many miracles and tender mercies of the Lord associated with this illness and Dave has recognized those in his life. Right now, they are trying to get him healthy enough to start into an aggressive chemotherapy program.

As you can guess, this has been a struggle for LaVon and the children but they are pushing through each day and have a lot of hope and faith.
