Dave has been undergoing treatment for Multiple Myeloma diagnosed in May of this year. He has pretty much sailed through his treatment this far. The goal has been to get to stem cell transplant. That time has come as his Oncologist in Omaha said he couldn't be any deeper in remission. Yay!😁 While we feel blessed with the treatment option and the opportunity to have it done at UNMC, it's a bit overwhelming for all of us. Dave will start Growth Factor shots tomorrow and have a central line placed. On Monday, they will begin to harvest his own stem cells. Either some time next week or early the week after, he will get chemo to suppress his immune system and then the transplant. We'll be in Omaha a few weeks through the process. He'll be hospitalized about 2 weeks during that time.
