Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most. In May, Dave went to the Doctor because he had a mild sore throat that had been bothering him for a few months. He was referred to a specialist who found a 2 1/2 cm mass at the base of his tongue. After several tests, Dave was diagnosed with Stage IVa Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell cancer. On July 11th his treatment begins...7 weeks of Radiation with 3 six-hour chemo sessions interspersed. His care team is excellent and we are very optimistic that he will beat this. Dave has conquered many challenges in his life from marathons to hiking, camping, and skiing from the tops of mountains. He sees this as yet another challenge to rise above.
