Dave Richardson is the son of Hosea & Leonora Richardson. He is the father of four beautiful children, daughter Taryn (16) , son Aidan (15) , son Aaron (13) ,and daughter Joie (1 yr). Dave has two brothers, Hosea and Anthony. He is married to Jenn, an athletic trainer for The University of Oklahoma Gymnastics Team.

Dave's hometown is Galloway, New Jersey where he attended Absegami High School. Dave went to West Virginia University where he was a Division 1 wide receiver for the football team and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. After college graduation, Dave pursued a career as a high school teacher and teacher in New Jersey. In 2005, Dave moved to Virginia to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Dave has been on the police force at Warr Acres in Oklahoma for four years, the past year and a half as detective. He was a patrolman and detective during his time in Virginia for the seven years prior to moving to Oklahoma. Dave is extremely passionate about his job.

Dave is also an assistant football coach at Norman North and loves this job too! He is a wide receiver coach. Dave has coached in some capacity since graduating from college.

Dave found himself Ill on Thursday, June 9th early in the am. It seemed like a normal stomach bug that would run its course but as the day went on, the pain became unbearable and a visit to the ER was eminent. The thought was that his condition was a potential appendicitis and the ER Doctor ordered a cat scan that would deliver a mind blowing diagnosis. Dave and Jenn sat in disbelief as the doctor communicated the discovery of a cancerous tumor in Dave's colon and other lesions on his lung and liver. Now, the fight begins.

Dave is scheduled for surgery on Monday, June 13th, to remove the mass in his colon and explore the other spots which appeared on the scan. Please stay in contact to learn more about Dave's health, his fight and his progress. Your support means more than you can ever imagine. All prayers, thoughts and well wishes are appreciated.
