Dave first received CT results that he had probable kidney (renal cell) cancer that had metastasized to the bones on Dec. 1, 2017. Cancer was present in four vertebrae and in his right iliac (hip) bone. Bone biopsy confirmed the diagnosis and our journey began to determine Dave's course of treatment. With our oncologist, we decided for Dave to have radiation therapy to help with the bone tumors and specifically the pain. He was also to start on an oral "targeted therapy" chemotherapy drug. So the journey began.
