Dave Ransburg

Dave has a disease called Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).  MSA initially presents like Parkinson's but advances more quickly and the medications that typically work for patients with Parkinson's do not work for those with MSA.   Dave's mind is still sharp, but his body is failing him.   Each medical setback causes Dave's condition to worsen with little to no return to his previous state.  As of today (September 23rd), he communicates with nods and shakes of his head.  With much difficulty, he can say a word or two that can maybe be understood.  He has difficulty holding  a phone or device so while he appreciates texts and emails and calls,  he may not respond to them.  Zan is working hard to get the care in place for him to return home.

CaringBridge is a nonprofit social network dedicated to helping family and friends communicate with and support loved ones during a health journey. Learn more about CaringBridge.
