Welcome to Dave Randall’s Caring Bridge Site.  We are hoping we can efficiently keep all of my Dad’s cheerleaders up to date on his progress.  With COVID, Mom is the only one who can visit, which I’ve decided is hard for all of us but likely better for his recovery to allow him more time to rest.

On the morning of March 17th 2021, Dad was taken by ambulance to St John’s Hospital for concerns of a stroke.  Mom had thought he slept through his alarm, which he was known to do at times, but when she got to him he was unable to move the entire left side of his body, he was talking but she couldn’t understand him and he seemed out of it.   At St. Johns, a CT confirmed his stroke and showed 3 clots in his head.  He was then transferred to UofM in order to have an interventional procedure to attempt to remove the clots.  During this procedure they found a 4th clot and ultimately removed 3 of the clots.  Unfortunately, the UofM didn’t have an ICU bed for him and he was transferred again to Fairview Southdale for their comprehensive stroke care.
