Dear Loved Ones,

We decided to create a CaringBridge site to share background and keep our friends and family members updated on what is happening in our lives. You are always welcome to send us happy and healing comment.

A little background. Late January I was seeing a neurologist for some elusive minor symptoms of headaches, ringing in ears, etc.  He recommended an MRI to see if the symptoms were nerve or sinus related.  The MRI revealed a large brain tumor!  This blindsided the doctors and, of course, us.  This led to a quick trip to the ER, followed by finding a neuro surgeon to operate.  I was fortunate to go to the Mayo Clinic in MN for my surgery.  On February 4th the surgeon was able to remove all evidence of the tumor. It has been diagnosed as an aggressive glioma.  The goal is to slow the growth and manage the tumor.  Since microscopic cells remain in the tissue, treatments will begin soon and include radiation and chemo therapy to control the cell growth.  This will include 6 weeks of radiation treatments 5 times a week followed by chemo.

I have decided to have the radiation treatments in Arizona at the Phoenix campus of the Mayo Clinic.
