Hi! Welcome to my Caring Bridge site. I never expected to have one of these, but here we are.
My journey began in mid-late March and progressed to a specific diagnosis on April 30, 2021. After a week to 10 days of unusual abdominal pain/discomfort I visited my doctor on March 31. I had adjusted my diet, eaten tons of antacid tablets and generally tried anything to alleviate the pain, to no end. We tried a couple things to see if I was dealing with an ulcer or some other type of stomach issue, but on April 14 my doctor ordered a CT scan. I had one that day and the result the next day showed a mass on my pancreas and spots on my liver. Not a pleasant thing to hear. A biopsy on April 27 confirmed what we thought we knew and the doctor said it out loud on April 30, “You have Adenocarcinoma, better known as pancreatic cancer.” So, now a new journey to address this problem and see if we can lessen the negative effects. I will update from time to time but in the meantime, I depend on your friendship and your prayers. Bless you all.
