Our favorite dude, Dave Berman, was diagnosed with stage 3-4 lung cancer in early January 2017 during a routine appointment with his primary care physician. The tumor is located near his spinal cord, in a spot that makes it difficult to remove by surgery. Therefore, our best bet is to shrink the tumor as much as possible or, at least, stop it from growing. Portal insertion surgury, a six month long, 5-days-a-week chemotherapy treatments which segued into 1-day-a-week radiation treatments for another 3-4 months.
