Daryl's journey began in late January with the confirmed diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer. This was a surprise to us. Yet, God's fingerprints and direction continue to be evident each day and has been no surprise to Him.

A little bit about papillary thyroid cancer.  This type of cancer has a 90% success rate of treatment. Typically, it infects the neck area and can grow into the lungs. It has a slow growth rate. The infected areas are surgically removed and the follow-up treatment is taking a Radioactive Iodine pill.  Thyroid cancer is attracted to iodine.  So, when it attracts to the radioactive iodine, it gets terminated through this treatment. 

This may sound over simplified to those who read Daryl's story.  There are additional considerations we will need to pursue in Daryl's situation, but the Lord has continued to bathe us in His truth and provide the peace that passes all understanding guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
