On Monday, November 25, Dan went in for what we thought was a routine colonoscopy. He had been experiencing problems with his Diverticulitis among other issues. To make a long story short the colonoscopy and other tests revealed Stage 4 Rectal cancer. Of course this threw us into a tail spin and we've been trying to absorb a lot of information over the last week or more. A CT scan revealed a spot on his liver as well as a spot on his left lung. What we do know right now is that Dan will see his oncologist, Dr. Stephenson, next Monday (Dec. 9) to learn about the treatment plan. He has already met with his surgeon, Dr. McFadden, however surgery will not happen at this juncture. They are hoping that the spots on his liver and lung will respond well to the chemo, and that the tumor will also get smaller. IF the spots respond well and the tumor does in fact get smaller then surgery could happen, however that will be some time next year. Dan will have a PET scan on Thursday morning to further evaluate the spots and to be sure that it has not spread into the bones and/or blood. Please be in prayer for that specific piece this week. We all are doing our best to remain positive and remember that God has all of us in his mighty hand! Most of all we want to be sure that our faith shines through no matter the outcome.

Currently Dan is working and will continue to do so. He works for a wonderful company who is standing behind him on this journey. We are praising God for that!

We love you all and covet your prayers over the weeks and months ahead!

Specific things to for pray for this week:

That his pain level will diminish
That the PET scan doesn't reveal any further cancer
