Dan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer that spread to his liver on December 21, 2020. What we thought were lingering Covid symptoms after testing positive in November, turned out to be symptoms of his Cancer. Very unexpectedly Dan’s world with his high school sweetheart Kathi has been turned upside down. Typical decisions like what to grill for dinner have now turned into discussions about medications, chemotherapy, procedures and doctor’s appointments. Dan started very strong chemotherapy treatments in January. We are feeling grateful that the first scans after 4 rounds of chemo, show that the cancer tumors in the pancreas and liver have stayed the same and no new cancer spots were detected. However it seems that each week brings new hurdles, obstacles and the unknown. Together with his family, Dan is facing a challenging road ahead. Dan’s sisters along with his three kids have become a valued part of his Cancer team along with all the positive support from family and friends. Now more then ever we are all learning that humor and love are some of the best medicines.
