February 6, Dan was in a snowmobile accident while up at the family cabin near Alexandria. It was after dark when Dan look the snowmobile out for a cruise around the lake. We think he must have hit a chunk of ice or another object because he was suddenly ejected, hitting his head very, very hard on the ice. Luckily his friends witnessed the accident & immediately called for help. A fellow ice fisherman on the lake also happened to be an EMT, so Dan had the best care right from the start.

He was airlifted to the Saint Cloud hospital where it was discovered he has a very large skull fracture and a small amount of bleeding in his brain, but no other injuries.

Dan remains stable in the ICU, sedated and placed on a breathing machine. The morning of Feb. 7, a repeat CT scan showed the swelling in his brain had not increased.

For now, we wait. His prognosis is good. However, he has a long road ahead, so all prayers and thoughts are appreciated!
