Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. **Please hold off donating any funds at this time as they we will not reach Hailey and Chass. Thank you**

We appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement, prayers, and healing thoughts as Hailey and Chass navigate these challenges. We aim to keep you as informed as possible as updates are received. Please know that Hailey and Chass would love to give us all personal updates but their time and attention are best directed to being present and supportive for Danon.

Danon was born October 25th, 2021 at 7:08pm. He was 7lbs 6oz and 20.5 inches long. After a prolonged labor which started at 1:30am on Monday morning, and after delivery, it was identified quickly that he was under respiratory distress. He was taken to NICU and there underwent observations and many tests. Danon received a diagnosis of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE).  (HIE) is a type of brain dysfunction that occurs when the brain doesn't receive enough oxygen or blood flow for a period of time. Hypoxic means not enough oxygen; ischemic means not enough blood flow; and encephalopathy means brain disorder.

Danon was transferred to the University of Utah hospital. He has been undergoing a specialized cooling treatment to assist with the HIE injury and help the recovery of other organs. Hailey has been discharged and is now able to visit and be next to Danon. Together, Hailey and Chass are providing all their unconditional love and support to encourage Danon and be there with him.

Thank you to everyone for all the love, support and concern you have shared with Chass and Hailey and their families. They feel so loved by the outpouring of concern and offers for help. Please check in regularly and let's continue to remain hopeful for a positive outcome for baby Danon!
