On March 19, 2012, Danny Nachreiner of Springfield, MN was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer. Danny received aggressive radiation for 8 weeks, and for 2 years the response was great. However, in April of 2014 after a series of low PSA's(cancer count), it started to rise. At this time the CT and bone scan was negative.
A repeat bone scan in 2016 indicated significant increase of the disease. After receiving different treatments in June and November of 2016 his PSA continued to rise. February 2017 indicated more advanced disease in the bones. Danny endured yet another treatment. Three months into this new injection it was discontinued because of negative reactions. A repeat bone scan indicated yet another substantial increase in the bone disease.
Having no other treatment options, Danny was sent to Mayo Rochester for a 2nd opinion. There it was determined no further treatment was available. Radiation on the two most prominent areas of bone disease were recommended and received for pain management with positive results.
Home Care was initiated on August 9th and switched to Hospice on August 19th after another blood transfusion and yet more fluids.
