Danny is 58 years old. He worked for the Abingdon Police Department for over 30 years. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, served in the National Guard, and was also a U.S. Marshall. Eight years ago, we found out that Danny was in liver failure, and at that time, he was placed on the transplant list. He was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center on March 22, 2017 with complications. He underwent a liver transplant at Vanderbilt on April 23, 2017, and will remain in the hospital for a few weeks.  After being released, Danny will need to stay in Nashville for up to a month being monitored until his doctors feel his care can be manged by local hospitals at home. He and family caring for him during this time will have to provide their own food and housing.  Fundraising is underway to help them with these daily living expenses.  A link will be posted soon to be shared where donations can be made.
