In early 2017 I was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis, a rare cancer of the bone marrow in which the marrow is replaced by scar tissue and is unable to make healthy blood cells. After many tests, my oncologist at Stanford explained to me that I was "intermediate stage 2 +, and my life expectancy was about 3 years. The only cure is a Bone Marrow Transplant, and it looks likely that I will have this done by Stanford Hospital, sometime in December 2017.
