Danna Lingo

Cancer is a wily beast!  It doesn't play fair.  It will hit you again if it can.  And when it does, it hits hard.  And so our sweet Danna is grappling with it once again.  After initially being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and wrestling it to the ground in 2014, the cancer is now back and this time with a bit of a vengeance.  She was recently diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer that has spread to the lungs and other places.  Stage IV cancer is a daunting diagnosis but not one that can't be beat!  As a stage IV breast cancer survivor myself, I KNOW that Danna can (and will) live, dance, love, create and THRIVE with this.  Danna, with her big heart, her beautiful green eyes and her unwavering devotion to all things natural and healthy needs our help right now while she gets this cancer under control.

Danna, Bud and Olivia are facing challenges and a few rough days ahead as Danna starts chemotherapy (along with two antibodies) in the next week or so.  Chemotherapy is hard!  This 16 week course will take her into early March.  It takes your strength, your taste and your hair.
Cancer is NOT cheap, even when you have insurance.
The Lingo family will need help with the financial burden. There is a link on this site to a "Go Fund Me" account set up to help with some of those expenses. (Donating directly to the  Lingo family is good too, as Go Fund Me deducts 8% off each donation.  Please do whatever works for you and let's just get them some funds and help).

Also some other ways to help are:

- meals (frozen or fresh, brought in disposable containers or those that need not be returned, will try to get a cooler out of the front porch)
-house cleaning and/or organizing  (there is a free cleaning service 1x a month that they are signed up for)
-play dates and rides for Olivia (12 years old, 7th grade),
-errands
-dog walking
-yard work
-driving

If you're unable to help at this time but want to show support, I'm sure they would also appreciate any notes of encouragement,  just to know you're thinking of them. This goes a long way!   For anyone who would like to donate directly to the Lingo family or drop anything off, their address is:

Danna Lingo
1075 E. Bates Parkway
Englewood, CO  80113

(They are located just several blocks south of DWS)

If you find yourself with some extra time and energy, wondering what is needed on any given day, pop over for 20-30 minutes and lend a hand. Danna will be using a "signup genius" web page  in the weeks and months to come (when she's able) with specific needs at specific times.

Let's show Danna our love so that she can focus on kicking the shiitake mushrooms out of that cancer.

We love you Danna!
