In June 2016, Dan was diagnosed with large B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Since then, he has been undergoing chemotherapy in Des Moines, Iowa. Because the tumor has not totally been eradicated, he has been referred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. On December 27, 2016, he will start a six-week program for an autologous stem cell transplant. His wife, Jana, and his daughter, Lucy, will be there with him as caregivers. Lucy will be the person who posts updates to CaringBridge. If you wish to visit us in Omaha, please leave a message on the site and Lucy will be in touch with you. To visit, you must have a flu shot, and unfortunately, cannot bring flowers, real or artificial.
Dan looks forward to completion of therapy and having more than two ounces of wine for the first time since he was diagnosed.
