Welcome to Dan's CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated.

Over the past few months Dan has been experiencing severe pain in his shoulder. After many trips to the doctor to figure out what was causing the pain, he was recently diagnosed with non small cell carcinoma (lung cancer – stage 3).

Since the diagnosis, he’s been through a whirlwind of appointments, scans, tests, etc.  Most importantly, the doctors have been able to relieve the pain that he’s been in.

Here is what we know at this point…

Dan will be going in on Monday 2/15 to have a port placed. This port will be used to administer the chemotherapy. On Wednesday 2/17, he will begin chemotherapy. Along with the chemo, he will have 5-6 weeks of radiation.  The doctors are hopeful that this combination will not only shrink the tumor, but continue to relieve him of the pain.

We also want to send an enormous Thank You to Joann (Dan’s cousin)!  Without hesitation she has stepped up and helped when he needed it the most!  Whether its bringing him to appointments, cooking him a nice dinner or simply watching the waves roll in on South Padre Island, we appreciate it ALL!

Thank you for the love and support you’ve already shown!  As Dan embarks on this journey, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!
