Back in November 2019, my 40th birthday month, I was diagnosed with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) which caused liver cirrhosis.  Fast forward to January 12, 2021 I got the news that I'm officially on the liver transplant list and very quickly I received 4 phone calls and got a new liver on February 26, 2021.  I was hospitalized from then until March 24, 2021.  4 days later I had a bump in the road when I developed a blood infection and an infection in my abdomen.  I began building fluid in my abdomen again.  I was hospitalized again on March 29, 2021 and to date (April 11th) I am still in the hospital.  My team of doctors have tackled the infection, but my liver, kidneys and body are still trying to get online together.  I am continuing dialysis and a multitude of meds.  The doctors have started me on a new treatment called "the rabbit" to stop my body from rejecting my liver and get me home!  With the support from my family, friends, and the community back at home and where I live now, I'm going be around for many years to come. 💛 💚
