Daniel Shadek

Daniel was born on March 11, 2003, when he was 36 hours old he went into respirtory distress.  At this time we found out he has Hypo-Plastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).  We were given 3 options...  a series of 3 surgeries to reroute the blood flow, a heart transplant or take our child home to die.  We chose the 3 staged surgeries, which were done at CHOP at 8 days old, 5 months old and 3 years old.  Since Daniel's 3rd surgery has been doing great heart wise!  We shared Daniel's story through Carepages, until today, and now we continue here...
