Early in November 2015 Dan started having pain and numbness in his right arm and hand.  He was seeing a chiropractor, who after 3 weeks recommended that Dan get this checked out by a spine specialist.  At that time an MRI was conducted and they noticed a herniated disk in his neck, but also there was a mass in his upper right lung area.  After seeing an Oncologist and getting more tests, it was determined that Dan has a Stage 3 lung cancer, with a tumor that's approx. 1-1/2" in diameter.  It is located up at the top of his lung and right rib area and it is embedded among his nerves.  This tumor has been the cause of all of his extreme pain and numbness.  Since this tumor is in among many nerves, surgery to remove it is not an option.  Dan also has a small tumor in his mid left lung, which is not concerning at this point and will be dealt with later on, possibly with surgery.  The great news here is that the cancer has not spread into his brain or any other areas of his body.  Dan is starting his treatments this week which include radiation 5 days a week and chemotherapy once a week for the next 8 weeks.  There will be further treatments, and the Oncologist will update us at that time.  Please sign into the end of the journals and leave us your comments, and feel free to read all the other comments. Loved ones and friends: Thank you for all of your prayers and support, rides, meals, etc. We appreciate it more than you'll ever know.  We are tremendously blessed to have all of you in our lives.
Love,
Dan & Brandy
