On August 30, 2017, Danielle received a life changing diagnosis of breast cancer (just 20 days shy of her 37th birthday.) In less than a week, Danielle will be starting chemotherapy.
We currently live in Creve Couer(St. Louis), Missouri. At this time, Simon is 6 years old and is a brand new kindergartner at his new school, OLP. Will is 5 and spends half of his day at OLP in Pre-K and the other half helping Mom around the house. Vivvie is 2 and spends her days being a two year old, at home with Mom. Chloe, our beloved German Shepherd, is 11 and likes to lay around the yard and eat cicadas. I (Korey the husband/father) 37, drive a Buick and watch football on Saturdays.
Danielle, 36 and 345/365ths, is the most amazing woman in the world and if you're reading this, you know how great she is and love her like we do. Danielle takes care of everyone. She is the life blood of our family and it's now time for us to help take care of her.
I hope to use this site to share information that we feel comfortable conveying that we believe is important to let you know how Danielle is doing.
Danielle's official diagnosis is referred to as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma(IDC). Stage 3. Triple negative. Negative on genetic mutations. It's an aggressive cancer which metastasizes quickly.
We have known about this for just over two weeks now. We don't know when it started or what caused it.
The initial shock of the news has passed. Danielle is focused and determined to get better. All around her are as well.
The road ahead will be bumpy. First four rounds of chemo will be every two weeks. Next 12 will be weekly. After chemo, there will be surgery and six weeks of radiation.
Our prayers ask that we get Danielle through this. We know that Danielle is going to lose her hair. But we're not going to let her lose her smile.
