Dana fell 20-25 feet from a tree stand hunting in Alabama on Thursday December 6th. He was air lifted to a trauma hospital in Montgomery Alabama where he is in ICU. Their main focus is to stablize his spine. His injuries are extensive and he is in a heavily sedated state. They say he hears us but is not responsive. Here is a list of his injuries: He broke all ribs and sternum Punctured both lungs one collapsed, now on a ventilator Bruised lung Blood in the sac around the lungs so a drain tube on each side to drain out the blood The calcaneus is shattered on left foot. Broke the tibia on the right leg. Broke left radius and will need surgery to repair it. Lost a tooth or more not sure. Fractured nose/sinus and under nose above lips. And fractured temporal bones on both sides. C2 vertebrae is fractured, PLL is torn surgery is not necessary at this time but will be further evaluated at a later time. Lumbar area will need a brace and surgery is not necessary at this time. Kidneys are not functioning like they should because of the trauma to the body. Nephrologist will make a decision soon to surgically place stints to do dialysis. This will help his kidneys function so the rest of his body can heal. No brain injury or bleeds. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. Please check back for updates.
