Hi. Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We've created it to keep friends and family updated about Dana's journey.

Visit often to read the latest journal entries, visit the photo gallery, and please write us a note in our guestbook.

On Valentine's Day of this year Dana awoke with a headache. A headache that after an intensive work-up would reveal itself to be a left temporal brain mass. We would like to consider this tragic awakening to be the day of her 're-birth'.

On February 22nd Dana underwent a 8 hour operation to remove the tumor. The surgery involved 5 physicians operating in a stereotactic operative MRI suite. Due to the area of the tumor (the speech and comprehension center) the surgery was done while she was AWAKE. She was asleep only for the opening and closing of the cranial vault. On the following day she was discharged - defying everyone's expectations.

Within the next week we will be planning Dana's course of radiation and chemotherapy. She is more scared of this than the surgery.

You know, when facing a life crisis one can chose many paths. For us there was never a question as to which path we would chose; to fight - to give everything we have to allow us to hope for another day. That's all Dana really asks as well - to have the love, courage, and strength to forward on.
