Dan Cone Dan

So.. not sure where to begin.. Dan has had some problems urinating for a few months. After visiting with his urologist and some tests it was discovered that Dan had 2 tumors between his prostate and bladder walls. Surgery to correct this was on Friday February 21st 2020. The actual name for the surgery is called Cysto Transurethral Resection Of The Prostate (TURP) for short. He came out of surgery fine and the doctor would biopsy what they removed.  The Doctor was only concerned about a small suspicious spot.  They kept him overnight.  On Wednesday morning (Feb. 26th) Dan's urologist called and spoke to us with the news that some of the prostate chips that were biopsied did not come back good. He has a rare cancer. The correct term for the type of cancer he has is Urothelial Carcinoma Of The Prostate. It was explained to us that it is attached in his bladder and prostate walls and lining. The prognosis are not favorable but that hasn't been confirmed by his Oncologist yet. This is a hereditary type of cancer that attaches to the DNA.  The doctor said an Oncologist would contact us for our follow-ups. Our minds were blown. But... We have our first appointment with the Oncologist on Friday February 28th. So fortunately things are moving fast. This site is going to be used for updates and support for Dan. I am sure that things will get hectic and hard and we will update as we travel this road together.  This will help with not having so many phone calls to make about updates.
