Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement!

Dale tested positive for Covid-19 the week of October 10th. On Friday October 15th we took him to Doctor as he was not improving. They sent us to the ER where a chest X-Ray confirmed he had Pneumonia. His blood oxygen level was low and he also had a temp. Because they were unable to get his blood oxygen levels to a reasonable number they had to sedate and intubate him. We were fortunate that St Cloud ICU had an open bed for him and he was then transferred via helicopter as there was not a medic available to transfer via ambulance.  His blood oxygen levels have not been consistent and they would like his dependency on the vent to be at 40 before they attempt to wean him off the ventilator.  Last night after his vent numbers had been 80-100 they flipped him to his stomach. This can help oxygen reach areas of the lungs that were not receiving it laying on his back. After flipping him to his stomach his number was at 60. Before lunch today  he was put on his back and he was at 75 (we want this number to be low, the goal is 40 so he can attempt to breathe on his own).  We've been told this will be a marathon and not a sprint and it will take time. We know Dale is stubborn and he's a fighter. Prayers for healing are appreciated.
