11/20/2014 ....... started as any normal day with the exception that I found a hemorrhoid and had to figure out how to reduce its size as I had an OBGYN appointment coming up.
So...off I go to the store and back I came with the normal fixes, creams, wipes and medicated pads.
Tried that for two weeks to no avail. OK, let's try holistic approaches. Another $50 down, a week later still nothing.
Long story short, see my doctor who said yes, it should be looked at. So, I call my other doctor ...the one I saw for my colonoscopy. Thankfully he got me right in! Unfortunately he couldn't help either.
So now I am off to see the real deal, the 'butt' doctor, a colon rectal surgeon. Who I might say was THE nicest doctor ever! Knowing why you are there and what he has to see....he made me so comfortable I forgot to be embarassed. (I did follow my mom's advice though and put on clean underwear) 😊
Hmmm, "sounds like you have an abcess let's go take a look!" Ok, I won't lie my nerves were starting to get to me at this point as I start to look around and see all these new medical contraptions and wondering how is he going to look 'there'?
Alot easier than you think...just like an OBGYN table except you kneel and bend over it rather than lay down.
And yes, he has a contraption but it didn't hurt.
You get draped with a paper cloth and a nurse is there with you both. He does the exam, which was painless and says..."Sorry, Daina but we need to schedule for surgery it looks like you have a gangrene hemorrhoid. Let's get you dressed, we can finish up your paperwork and I will see you in my butt clinic next week for surgery."
