D.J. Dalzell

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. To catch you up, here's what we know so far...

D.J. has been having headaches for a couple months. Not constant, dull headaches, but sharper ones that come and go more quickly. We thought it was due to a sinus infection from the last cold he had, so we got him some antibiotics. When that didn't help, he went back in and the doctor prescribed an MRI. Monday afternoon, December 12, 2016, D.J. and Charlene went to his MRI appointment and by the time Charlene got back to work, Clearview MRI called instructing her to bring D.J. to the ER and have someone else pick up the CD of his MRI on the way. Good friends Dave & Jen Proehl were able to grab the CD for us while Charlene picked up D.J. and Randy left George Fox University to meet them at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital. There, a neurosurgeon explained that the MRI shows a 4-5 cm tumor in the back of D.J.'s head, neatly contained in his cerebellum. It needs to be removed, so he will have surgery Wednesday morning, December 14. After that, we will know more.

D.J. is a trooper. He showed much courage and care for others Monday night in the ER. He told us he appreciates your prayers and messages very much.

Thank you so much for visiting our site and standing in the gap with us. Most of all, thanks for your prayers. We will keep you posted as we know more.

Much love and thanks.
