On the evening of November 2, 2017 Cyan became seriously ill due to bleeding in her brain as the result of a previously undiagnosed cavernoma. The event came on very quickly while Cyan was with a group of friends from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where Cyan attends school. Thanks to the quick response of her friends who contacted emergency services, she was transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine where she is received excellent care including surgery to remove the cavernoma.
Cyan then received in-patient care at Rusk in Manhattan and is now at home with her family where she continues out-patient therapy from Rusk and is on the road to recovery.
Cyan and her family are deeply thankful for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family and look forward to Cyan’s full recovery.
