Curt Wheat Curt's Medical Journey

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   Twenty-four hours ago Curt began his medical journey (well, I shouldn't say 24 hours, as it has been years in the making), and Curt's triple bypass surgery was a success.  He currently remains in Cardiac ICU, but we are hopeful he will break out later today from all the bells and whistles that make him nervous.  He has remained stable and even sat up in a chair for a bit last night.  His pain is now well controlled and it no longer feels like his brother John is sitting on his chest.  They harvested arteries out of his arm and leg and he does still complain of numbness in his arm, but this should pass.   All in all, he has been a trooper during the first 24 hours and I expect nothing but continued improvement. Curt and I have been blessed with amazing children, parents, brothers, sisters, friends, and co-workers who without their support would have made this journey so much tougher.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
