Dear family and friends,
Thank you for being in our lives through joys and trials and for walking alongside us (with the great Shepherd) through this valley. Here’s a rough overview for anyone just jumping on:
On August 28th, were notified of a cancerous mass that was found on Curt’s esophagus after going in for what we expected to be a routine hiatal hernia repair. Chemo and radiation were started a few weeks later, and on December 10th, a follow up CT revealed that cancer cells had traveled to the liver. Curt is now in his second round of chemo with a different chemo drug, and will be re-evaluated sometime after the completion of this treatment in mid-March. The most difficult part of the battle has been the aftermath of radiation and the excruciating pain experienced with eating. Curt has struggled to keep weight on and to have the strength and stamina to perform routine tasks. Though his body is weak, his faith has remained strong and steadfast, and we are thankful that our Heavenly Father is showering His love on us and holding us up, and giving us strength through the prayers and care of you, our friends. Please continue to pray with us for strength and healing. We love all of you so much!

P.S.

We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayer, support, and encouragement from you all. Please know that we are so grateful for every prayer, phone call, message, and thought — but are sometimes unable to keep up with responding to all of them timely! We hope this site will be a place you can find the most recent updates on Curt’s health and how to keep praying. We had no idea we were loved by so many — you are a gift from God to us!
