Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

September 17th 2021 - Curt, who had been dealing with stage 3 chronic kidney disease, was admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain. A mass was found, and a biopsy was performed. The mass was positive for stage IIIb gall bladder cancer adenocarcinoma. Chemotherapy was started in October to shrink the mass to prepare it for surgical removal. After various chemo treatments, including different combinations of drug therapies, the mass grew and attached to the liver. Curt’s medical team felt surgery to remove the mass could be performed but only if the liver was healthy. On March 1st 2022, Curt underwent a portal vein embolization procedure to test his liver’s ability to withstand resectioning. Even though the procedure was successful, cancerous fluid had built up in Curt’s abdomen indicating the cancer had spread. The cancer had advanced to stage IV and Curt is no longer a candidate for surgery. A sample of Curt’s cancer cells has been sent to a sequencing center to determine if there are any targeted treatments left to try. Curt’s care team has estimated he will live 1-4 months if no treatments are available. Please pray for Curt, his medical team, and his family as they go through this difficult time. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. There is a gofundme page set up to help with ongoing medical and living  expenses. https://gofund.me/14d5e1b9
