Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. On Wednesday, December 18, 2019 Crystal found out that her cancer was back and with a vengeance. Crystal has had breast cancer previously and went through chemotherapy, radiation, and having to lose a breast in order to try to put an end to the cancer but unfortunately her doctors would never tell her that she was in remission. The one piece of news every cancer patient longs to hear. Instead on December 18 Crystal was given the news that not only is her rare type of cancer back but that it was now in her liver, her bones, and her spine. The doctors have given Crystal the sad news that their is nothing they can do except, try to make Crystal comfortable with medications. In an attempt to help Crystal live as long as possible, the doctors are giving Crystal some antibodies. They are also trying 10 radiation to shrink the cancer in the brain, 12 chemotherapy ( the doctors started the chemo on Christmas Eve. Crystal has had 3 treatments and then they had to stop as there was a problem with her heart.) an estrogen receptor, in an effort to shrink the cancer and get Crystal's pain under control. To date, Crystal's cancer has now continued to spread and is in her brain. Due to the cancer being in her brain an MRI scan also revealed that she is also developing some Alzheimer's. Crystal is a single mother of 4 beautiful children. She receives no financial support in raising them. She has worked very hard as a Nursing Assistant at a nursing home. She loved her job and the people she worked with and cared for. Crystal is asking for money to cover her medical expenses and to help her children when she is no longer with us, as she is their sole source of support. Anything donated is greatly appreciated by Crystal and her family. God bless you all! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We will continue to keep you all updated as we have news to share.
