Thank you for caring about Courtney and her family. On March 16th Courtney will be having an extensive hysterectomy and reconstruction surgery. For a minimum of six weeks, Courtney is not allowed to lift anything heavier than a half-gallon of milk! And for several weeks after that, she’ll need to be extra cautious with movement and lifting.

Timing is everything right? On top of the extensive surgery, Courtney, Gabe, and their five children just sold their house in mid-February and bought an old farmhouse that Gabe is putting in twelve-hour days to renovate so that they can move in. They are hoping to able to live in their new nest by late April. In the meantime, Gabe’s parents are hosting them in their home. The five kids are all sleeping in the house, and to create a little more space, Courtney and Gabe have been sleeping in a heated camper right outside the house. This has been working well but since Courtney won’t be able to manage the stairs into and out of the camper and house, Court will be moving into the main house as she recovers.

Ways you can help:

Please pray for Courtney’s surgery to be done safely and to be successful in the long-term! And pray for everyone living in the house with Gabe’s parents. In a home that normally has three working adults, the addition of two more adults plus five energetic kids comes with some logistical challenges! Meals are one challenge, and any help with meals will be a blessing to Courtney and to the whole crew. Since several people in the family are very sensitive to wheat gluten we know it’s a bit trickier to prepare meals so we’re deeply grateful for any help!
