Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Corban, was diagnosed with stage 3 embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma November 3, 2017 at the age of three after a tumor was found several weeks prior.   It took doctors about a month to properly diagnose him.  We have had a long journey but we are hopeful and thankful!  The current treatment plan includes 40 weeks of chemo, radiation, and possibly surgery.  Corban's most recent PET scan results confirmed that his treatment is working: his tumor has shrunk, no other cancerous spots have shown up, and his tumor and lymph node areas aren't "hyper metabolic" so the cancer isn't active or growing.   Recent CT scans also show that his lymphnodes are now normal size which is really great news!  Corban's main hospital is UCSF in Oakland but he also spent 7 weeks in San Diego to receive proton radiation therapy in February and March 2018.  We hope that Corban will finish chemo in August and then after end-of-treatment scans in September, he can be declared "cancer free"!

We will continue to update our family's journey in the journal.  While there may be some uncertainty in our days ahead, one thing is for certain; the Lord Jesus reigns and the Judge of all the earth always does right.  When we were in the dark in the beginning, not knowing what the exact diagnosis was, the sovereign God of all creation was not in suspense.  He was not surprised or caught off guard.  He knew.  And He also knows the end from the beginning.  He is all powerful, perfectly wise and just, and so loving that it humbles my arrogant heart to the point of sweet worship.  He has already given His very best in His Son...how can I not trust Him to always provide every good and perfect gift needed that will conform us into the image of His Son and glorify Himself? He does not make mistakes!

Thank you all for your encouragement and prayers. To God be the glory!  ~Eric
