Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated on Cooper's open heart surgery scheduled for 9:00am CST on January 27, 2016.  The heart surgery is being done to repair two heart valves and a hole between the two lower chambers of his heart.  Cooper has continued to grow stronger every day and he is an amazing, happy little man, that can make everyone around him smile uncontrollably!

While this will undoubtedly be the worst few days that Brad and I have ever had to face, we are very blessed to have an amazing heart surgeon, cardiologist, and supporting medical staff at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.  Although nothing can remove the overwhelming fear of having open heart surgery performed on our 7 month old son, it is comforting to know that he is in terrific hands.

We are also thankful to have amazing families and friends to help us through this stressful time.  The very positive side of this is that once the surgery is complete, Cooper's heart should heal completely and he will in no way be restricted moving forward.  Again, we feel blessed that this is something that doctors can repair and we can't wait to get Cooper, and ourselves, past this hurdle.

We are incredibly thankful for the continued expressions of love, encouragement, kindness, prayers, warm wishes, and overall support from all of our friends and family.
