At the end of May I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am happy that the doctors found it and are optimistic. I am feeling blessed to have such a fabulous, hard working support system of family and friends around me, couldn't be any luckier.
I started my first round of treatment in early June and hope to be finishing up by the end of October. I will be going in for my treatment/drug therapy every three weeks, the next one is on July 11. With everything going on, for some reason I had in my head that I would be having a total of 18 treatments, and much to my joyous surprise Katelyn informed me that it was only 6 treatments every 3 weeks (for a total of 18 weeks), 6 treatments felt way more doable than 18, and we had a good laugh!
I am trying this website out because I wanted a place that I could update and connect with all my friends and family during my journey. At times I know I probably will be tired and not feel swell so I wanted to have a place that was easy for me to write an update and reach all of you at once, just to try and make things easy. I apologize ahead of time if I don't get back to you - please know that I appreciate hearing from you as I will be living through you vicariously for a while thinking of you...and will be carrying your thoughts, laughs, stories, and improv bits with me.
Please feel free to write a message, or tidbits of your fun summer adventures - it will help me feel connected to you all. Please know you don't need to post things here (on this website), you can text or email me if that's easier for you! I think this website will make it easier for me to get information out - but I am open to hearing from you in any form!
