This is Kori. I will update you as much as I can when we get any information.

Mom has been having headaches for a few days. Last night she was disoriented.  She went to sleep and Dad was planning on taking her to the doctor in the morning.  About 3:00 the ambulance was called and Mom was taken to McKee Medical center in Loveland with stroke symptoms. The blood test revealed there was no stroke (I guess there would be something in her blood to indicate).  A CT scan was done and confirmed there was blood on her brain.  A second  scan confirmed she had a clot in her vein system in her brain. They described this to us like a clog in a gutter. The water disperses around because it cannot get through. This is why there is presence of blood.  She was airlifted to Swedish Medical Center to the Neuro ICU. They diagnosed her with Dural Sinus  Venous Thrombosis.  She has been given Heprin (a blood thinner) which will help to disolve the clot. She was taken down to surgery at 10:30. The neuro surgeon is going to go in through her veins and try to break up the clot as best he can. She will likely be in the ICU for atleast a week. Her treatment is by the minute at this point as they try to walk the line of thinning the blood for the clot and not letting the bleed on her brain increase. I am with Dad and Todd will be here later tonight. We are thankful this was caught and doing our best to live in the moment.
