Connie fell on Monday while vacuuming the stairs and landed hard on her head. She was rushed to Regions Hospital in St. Paul unconscious and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She has a fractured skull with brain trauma. Connie is a strong-willed person and a fighter and even though she has an uphill battle to get back to normal we all know she will do it.

She remained unconscious through Thursday but there were positive signs too as she didn’t need a ventilator and all her vital signs were good. On Friday she regained consciousness and was able to sit in a recliner for a while. She was also speaking, although we couldn’t understand her, it was a big step forward on her recovery. She also tried to keep standing up while in the recliner, which is not possible but it shows her fight. On Saturday the big news was she recognized and said Brian. She has improved well enough to be moved from the Intensive Care Unit to the Progressive Care Unit which is another good development.

Connie has a long recovery ahead of her and it will take time. We will post updates on her progress. We will share all your comments and support which we know she will love.
