My journey began at the beginning of September 2016 when my routine mammogram resulted with a more in depth look via ultrasounds and then biopsies to find 2 cancerous tumors and a group of micro calcifications all in the Left breast. For 3 weeks I met with and discussed my diagnosis with several doctors of various expertise. Had an MRI of chest area and biopsy of the lymphs.

My diagnosis is mixed lobular and micro papillary invasive carcinoma and invasive ductal carcinoma in breast tissue and lymphs.

My treatment plan:

The 8 cycles of chemo will begin on Oct 20 and be administered every 2 weeks at the Baylor College of Medicine Lester & Sue Smith Breast Center. I will have various ultrasounds along the way to see how the chemo is shrinking the tumors!

Surgery in March 2017 will be needed along with 6 weeks of radiation following surgery and reconstructive surgery later in 2017.

Taking each day one step at a time!
