February 4, 2021 - It turned into a busy day for the family.   Colter has been feeling punky with a night time cough for about a month.  He had been hurting and dragging at basketball practices and games.  The last few nights were pretty bad with the cough not letting him sleep.  With COVID situation it was a bit of an effort to get him to a Doctor but that finally happened.  The Doctor ended up  getting Colter a chest x-ray and CAT scan.  Colter and I ended up with a medivac flight to Seattle while Kathleen tied up loose ends and caught a commercial flight to Seattle.  We are at Children's Hospital, which is a great place to be.  The staff and the Doctors seem top notch with very good caregivers.   He has a mass in the space between his lungs and heart.  Not in the lungs as first thought.  The mass is putting pressure on his trachea which is causing the cough and it is also the reason we spent the first few nights in the ICU.  There also appeared to be an involved lymph node, right behind his clavicle.  Colter is scheduled for removal of that lymph node in the morning to get the biopsy needed to identify the mass, which will lead to a treatment plan.  For now, it is presenting like lymphoma.  We hope that is the case due to favorable lymphoma cure statistics.  
Colter seems to be in good spirits.  Treatment will likely involve chemo and an extended stay here in Seattle.
