5 weeks ago we were shocked to find out our daughter Colleen was diagnosed with stage 2 synovial sarcoma in the nerve of her right hand.  We are blessed to live in one of best cities that have the best hospitals and medical care to help us get rid of  this horrible disease.

After a few weeks of tests and pathology reports, we have been very blessed to receive the great news that Colleen's cancer has not spread to other vital parts of her body. She will, however, have to endure 5 weeks of radiation therapy every day and a few surgeries that could leave her without the use of her right hand.

Colleen has made the courageous decision to attend UMASS Amherst College of Nursing this fall and elected to do her radiation therapy while at school!  Colleen is one of the strongest and bravest young ladies I know.  Thanks to all the love and support from family, friends, and friends we don’t even know, Colleen has a car to get her safely to and from her radiation appointments and the flexibility to come home whenever she feels the need.

We moved Colleen in to her dorm on Friday, September 2nd to begin her freshman year and to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.

We are grateful for every person who has reached out and offered their prayers and support, you've all been a huge help in Colleen's words of “kicking cancer's ass”!

The outcry of everyone’s support has been amazing and inspiring to all of us. We are very blessed and can't say thank you enough!
