Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. God had a plan when he brought Cole home early from Alaska.  Yesterday afternoon he suffered an acute onset of vomiting while myself and his sister were present. He was on the floor on his hands and knees with his head down making a gurgling sound all of a sudden I realized he was turning blue and that he had aspirated on his vomit and was choking to death.  I did the hymlich to clear his airway - layed him on his side while he continues to vomit yet struggle to breath.  He lost consciousness I started CPR in between clearing out the vomit this went on for ten minutes, with me screaming at God the whole time not to let my son die!!! Paramedics arrived and Cole had no heartbeat they estimate he was down for 3 minutes.....They worked on him for 30 minutes got a pulse and a heartbeat and transfered him to the hospital.  They're it took another 4 hours till they let me see him . It was devastating to see my little boy hooked up to life support, tubes everywhere, I talked to him because I feel he can still hear me . I told him we all loved him and he's not going anywhere. I also begged him to fight.  Well then the doctor came in and delivered the shocking news that Cole was severely diabetic and his blood sugar was over 400, next that he has an amonia and he aspirated alot of stuff in his lungs.  Then the kicker he has COVID! At that point the whole protocol changed now even I can't visit him and I had to leave his side !  They've admitted him into the ICU he's in a Coma, and they are doing Cryotherapy on him where they bring your whole body temp down to almost freezing to try to preserve brain function and avoid organ damage. So he's covered in ice in a tube right now hooked up to a ventilator but stable. He will be in there until tomorrow when they will start slowly bringing his body temp back up.  This is the scary part....we won't really know how he is or isn't until they bring him back and remove the breathing tube. Pray, Pray, Pray...I'll keep updating.
