I'm Cole Ashton Carpenter.
I am a miracle born on 10-14-06. I was diagnosed with AT/RT at 6 months old. I'm a St. Jude's patient that's survived aggressive chemo, radiation, 7 surgeries and now I'm at home having bi-annual scans that tell the doctors I'm "ALL CLEAR! No tumors detected!

When I was 6 months old I had a tumor removed from my brain and was diagnosed with Atypical Terazoid Rhabdoid Tumor (AT/RT). I lived at St. Jude's for 8 months while receiving treatment there. I cut my first tooth in the hospital but the doctor let me make a special trip home to celebrate my 1st birthday in our home church in MS! I am a very happy boy who loves people and loves to make them smile by showing out for them. I love praise music and will raise my hands and dance to the beat.

My mother has proclaimed Psalms 118:17 "I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done" as my special verse. After all, "...by His stripes, we are healed."

We praise God daily for His saving grace, His healing, His goodness and mercy, and for protecting us through life's journey. I would like for you to remember that God inhabits praise and that He can work through our praises. Please join us as we praise God for what He is doing in our lives.

Even though my mother was diagnosed with melanoma cancer when I was nine weeks old and took chemo treatments in Memphis with me, I know that she is already healed, just as I am! We have had an extraordinary journey, but we have an extra-ordinary God and we give Him all the glory and praise for bringing us through such a hard time and blessing us.

My two favorite words are "Jesus" and "Amen" ( and mommy of course!).  I say them all day long, because even though I am only four, I can already perceive how important Jesus is and that He is the one to call on when in need. I love to say "Amen" after an especially good song in church, and while the preacher is preaching. I love upbeat praise songs because somewhere deep inside my spirit I know "How Great is Our God." That was my first favorite song. After my 10-hour surgery to remove the tumor, I was crying so inconsolably, the only thing that calmed me, and stopped my crying was playing "How Great is our God," by my ear. I know God has a plan for me, one full of hope.

My family is so thankful for what God has done - exceedingly, immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine. Thank you to all of you for your love, your prayers, and support.

I love you all,

Cole Carpenter & family

UPDATE:  I love my mommy and kept looking for her but one day I'll understand that she is now my Angel mommy. 4-22-11
