Cloe's Journey began Sat. Dec. 21st 2019 with a quick trip to Urgent Care to make sure her lingering cough wasn't turning into Pneumonia. About 20 mins after leaving the clinic, we received a call saying they would like us to go to Children's that day and have a CT scan done on a mass they noticed in the XRay that they didn't believe was related to her cold.
After a few hours at the Children's Hospital ER we were admitted as they confirmed from the X-Ray that Cloe has a 10cm x 7cm X 6.6cm mass in her chest cavity.
Our first 4 days were filled with CT scans, Echo Tests, EKG's, Lung testing, a PET Scan and finished with a biopsy before getting discharged to spend Christmas at home as she is stable.

We were hoping for results Thur. the 26th but after a call from the Dr. he didn't think we would get the official results back until after the weekend as they needed to do some staining of the cells to pinpoint what it is. Our wait wasn't long as Dr. Miller called Fri. morning with the  results. Cloe has been diagnosed with  T-Cell Lymphoblastic non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She was admitted that afternoon and Saturday morning she will be going under for a bone marrow test, spinal tap and to get her Port-a-Cath placed. The plan is to start treatment soon after she wakes up from these tests.

They believe that this was caught early as her lungs are still doing great and all of her heart scans are good. Due to where the mass is, it is putting pressure on her heart and often can start compromising the airway and main arteries.  Thankfully she hasn't had any of these issues.
We are also so grateful that the Urgent Care doctor decided to do the X-ray last Saturday... She called to check on us the next day and mentioned that typically with what she was hearing in Cloe's lungs,  she wouldn't have necessarily done an X-ray but for whatever reason decided to do it. In our eyes it was a blessing in disguise to catch this before showing other symptoms.

So far, we have had nothing but great care here at Children's Hospital. They have been more than welcoming, very informative,  and so soft with our Cloe.

We will do our best to update her site and keep you all informed of how she's doing on this journey. So far she's doing great...she's had a few sad moments but bounces back quickly!
Keep sending her your thoughts and prayers!
