On January 9, 2018, Carrie asked me to take her to the Emergency Room.  Although she was processed quickly, because of the flu, there was not a bed in the state.  They found a place to temporarily hold her in a basement room, not typically used for patients.  They took blood and ordered a CAT Scan.   January 10 they ordered an MRI.  January 11 we were told the diagnosis. January 12 they did a biopsy, which confirmed what most caregivers were previously aware of, but the first time we were aware of the extent of the diagnosis.  My beloved Wife, a mother, a daughter, sister (and in-law), aunt, cousin, niece and friend to many has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. The prognosis is dire.  But Carrie is a fighter and her family is strongly supporting her as we tackle this next chapter each day, one at a time.  Our family is enjoying spending time together, we are family and will always be.

We have researched clinical trials and alternative treatments.  Carrie's Dr.  is researching a clinical study that may be able to be administered at his office.  Carrie begins treatment on 24 January.  We want to thank all our family and friends for the meals, plants, flowers and prayers. It has been humbling.
